I've been thrown a few curlies in my time, I have a curious mind, and I've also made use of a Pinterest post entitled "What to Ask your Photographer". So below I've complied a list of FAQ below in the hope I've answered your questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of photographer are you?

I’m a very down to earth, open and friendly. You can read more about me here

Do you travel for weddings?

Of course I do! Although I'm based in Christchurch I travel near and far to photograph all the beautiful people, places and things of this world.Hit me up, I'd love to come to your neck of the woods.

What's your photography style?

I mainly shoot documentary. That means I’m there to document your day, the people, places, and things. While I won’t orchestrate your day, I’ll be there to ensure your day is captured so you can look back on it forever!

Who owns copyright of the photographs?

While photograph copyright belongs to me, you will have "home use" licence to print as many as you like and publish on social media.

What camera equipment do you bring with you?

I work with one camera and interchangeable lenses that I keep in a satchel. I travel light because it helps me move. And I try to avoid using flash if I can help it.

I’m really nervous about having my photos taken. How do you make your clients feel relaxed?

I find the best way to make clients feel relaxed is by meeting with them before the big day.

This could be over coffee, a drink, or Skype – and it’s basically a chance to get to know one another.

Why? This gives you a chance to figure out if you even like me as a photographer - or any photographer for that matter. While asking questions about what gear and style of photography I use is important, being sure that can feel at ease with me is paramount.

As we’ll be spending most of the day together, having a sense of knowing the person behind the camera gives you permission to trust, let go of nerves, feel beautiful and most importantly have fun.

Still not convinced? organize an engagement session.

Is it okay for other people to take photos while you’re taking photos?

Absolutely.

Can we request specific shots on the wedding day?

Of course you can.

What do you wear to a wedding?

Smart wedding attire that’s practical to work in, and doesn’t clash with the bridal party. This could be a dress that’s below the knee length, smart trousers and a nice top. Something that’s not so loud that I stand out like a sore thumb and not so comfortable that guests start accusing me of being Sporty Spice. I always wear flats to a wedding.

How long will it take to receive our photos?

Wedding photos typically take 4-6 weeks process

Will you give me printed copies?

While I don't do prints, I do provide edited, high resolution Jpeg images that are print ready through Pixieset and I'll send you the files on a USB. This means you have total control over which ones you wish to print.

How many images will I get from my wedding day?

This usually depends on the amount of coverage you choose but anywhere from 250 to 650+. It's important to note that I do not limit the amount of photographs I give you based on the package you've chosen.
